Phosphoric acid, bis(4-methylphenyl) ester - Introduction
Di-p-tolyl-phosphate(Di-p-tolyl-phosphate) is an organic phosphate compound. Its chemical formula is C14H15O4P, and the two para-toluene groups in the structure are connected to the phosphate group.
Di-p-tolyl-phosphate have the following properties:
-Appearance is a white crystalline solid;
-Soluble in organic solvents such as toluene and Ether solvents;
-The relative density is high, the melting point is about 60-65 ℃.
Di-p-tolyl-phosphate are primarily used as flame retardants and lubricants. In the field of flame retardants, it can be added to plastics, rubber, coatings and liquid crystal materials to improve its flame retardant properties. In the field of lubricants, it can be used in industrial lubricants such as lubricating oils and gear oils to improve friction resistance.
The Di-p-tolyl-phosphate can be obtained by reacting p-cresol and trimethyl phosphate under appropriate conditions. The reaction needs to be carried out under the protection of inert gas to avoid the influence of oxygen and humidity on the reaction products.
Regarding safety information, Di-p-tolyl-phosphate may cause certain harm to human health. Prolonged exposure or inhalation may cause damage to the nervous system and liver, and may have adverse effects on the reproductive system. When using, you need to pay attention to protective measures to avoid direct contact with the skin and inhalation of gas. During use and storage, it should be prevented from reacting with oxidants and strong acids. In case of skin contact or accidental ingestion, seek medical attention.
